Sandhya Devanathan, who is currently Vice President for Meta India, has been appointed to also lead the company’s business throughout Southeast Asia as part of a significant reorganization in Meta’s Asia Pacific leadership. Benjamin Joe, a 14-year veteran of Meta, will take over as the new Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific beginning in July 2025, replacing Dan Neary, who will be leaving after leading Meta’s APAC operations for a number of years.
Devanathan wrote on LinkedIn, “I am excited to take on additional responsibilities and lead our business in both India and Southeast Asia. What remains a constant is our unwavering focus on serving our partners and investing in products that drive growth.”
Devanathan, who became leadership of Meta’s India division in January 2023, has over twenty years of expertise in banking, technology, and digital innovation. She oversaw Meta’s gaming division in Asia Pacific from April 2020 to January 2023 before taking on her present position.
Devanathan worked as the Managing Director of Retail Banking and Payments at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore for more than six years prior to joining Meta in 2016. During her 10 years with Citi, she had senior positions in consumer lending, product management, and international cross-selling strategy in the Philippines, India, and the United States.
With this new position, Devanathan is now in charge of Meta’s strategic direction in two of its fastest-growing and most dynamic areas. Southeast Asia and India are both essential to Meta’s future strategy.
