India’s GCCs Set for a Pay Surge with Nearly 10 Percent Hike, Tech Talent in High Demand

The landscape of India’s Global Capability Centres is witnessing a dynamic transformation, as salaries are expected to rise by an impressive 9.8 percent in the coming year, according to a recent insights report shared by a staffing firm. This sharp upward shift in compensation reflects the soaring demand for specialised expertise in areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity.

The report, titled India’s Talent Takeoff, paints a vibrant picture of pay evolution across various cities and sectors. Hyderabad and Mumbai are leading the charge, with these cities showing a remarkable 19 percent salary premium, particularly in IT software services and consulting, which top the charts at 22 percent. India’s banking and financial services are not far behind, marking an 18 percent uptick.

Bengaluru, often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India, and Delhi NCR are not just keeping pace but excelling with competitive salary benchmarks at 24 percent and 21 percent respectively. Notably, even sectors like telecom and digital services are showcasing substantial growth with a 12 percent salary rise, indicating a wider industry trend.

The surge is particularly strong in junior to mid-level roles, driven by the tech sector’s relentless push for innovation and digital transformation. These roles are becoming the backbone of growth for GCCs, as organisations pour investments into emerging tech solutions and next-gen skillsets. However, at the senior level, the pace of growth remains measured. Companies are being mindful about leadership compensation, focusing instead on cost efficiency while still retaining strategic direction.

The GCC ecosystem in India is evolving into a powerhouse for global innovation, talent and business resilience. This fresh wave of salary progression is not just a reflection of demand, but a testament to the critical role these centres play in shaping the future of technology and services worldwide.
