Garmin Launches New Warranty Policy and offers to elevate the customer service experience in India

Garmin has announced its unique 2-year warranty policy for watches purchased in India, applicable to models launched after January 2024, including the Forerunner 165 Series, Fenix 8 Series, Enduro 3, Instinct 3 Series, and upcoming eligible models. The extended warranty aims to provide additional value to Garmin watches sold in India and encourage customers to purchase through authorized channels. This initiative also seeks to inform prospective buyers that purchases made abroad or through unofficial websites may carry only a 1-year warranty and could be subject to import duty and GST when availing warranty services in India, as per government rules.

We recently realized that some unused, refurbished, discontinued, or non-warranty products are still being offered to customers without informing them that no warranty will be applicable on such products, resulting in a negative service experience.

As part of this initiative, the company offers an exclusive limited-time exchange opportunity for affected customers, allowing them to receive 50% off on the Venu Sq 2 or 25% off on other Garmin watches, subject to availability, in exchange for any mis-sold watch, backed with a proper tax invoice. This limited-time offer will run from June 1st until June 30th, 2025, as part of this one-time service initiative.

To address this, we strongly recommend that customers only refer to and buy products available on the Garmin India website to ensure that discontinued or non-serviceable products are not sold, which may create issues in availing warranty for such products.

To avail this exchange opportunity, customers are required to email their concerns to [email protected]. Upon receiving the query, the support team will acknowledge the request and guide the customer through the next steps of the service process to provide them with the benefit within 15 days, if applicable.

This scheme has been introduced to enhance customer satisfaction for affected customers who are not eligible for a warranty, even if their purchase falls within one year.

With these updates, Garmin India continues to prioritize customer satisfaction, providing clear guidelines and an efficient service experience for all customers. Garmin is committed to delivering reliable products and comprehensive after-sales support, further enhancing the customer experience.
