IT Sector hiring rises 16% in April, GCC Growth

Hiring in the IT industry increased 16% year over year in April due to factors including cloud modernization, Al adoption, and the ongoing growth of Global Capability Centers (GCCs), according to a survey released Friday.

According to the study ‘the foundit Insights Tracker (fit)’ from jobs platform foundit, India’s IT hiring increased last month, signaling a dramatic recovery from past years’ swings.

According to the report, the GCCs contributed more than 1,10,000 new tech jobs in FY25 and increased demand for positions like enterprise architecture, data engineering, and DevOps.

The foundit Insights Tracker is a thorough monthly examination of foundit.in’s online job posting activities.

The research also said that 62% of IT firms prioritized practical experience above formal credentials, demonstrating the ongoing dominance of skill-based recruiting.

According to the report, 95 percent of job listings in the IT industry are in the top-demand categories of AI/ML, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics.

According to the survey, hybrid work styles and cost benefits drove impressive yearly hiring growth in cities like Coimbatore (40%) Ahmedabad (17%) and Baroda (15%).

It also stated that metro areas such as Bengaluru (9%), Mumbai (9%), and Delhi NCR (7%), were in the forefront of hiring for leadership and specialized positions.
