Wishing Mr. Ajoy Chawla greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!
Titan Company Limited, a renowned name in the Indian retail sector, has announced a significant leadership change. The Board of Directors has officially approved Ajoy Chawla as the successor to CK Venkataraman, who will retire as the Managing Director by December 31, 2025, upon reaching the age of superannuation as per the Tata Group’s policy.
Ajoy Chawla, who is currently serving as the CEO of Titan’s Jewellery Division, will take over as Managing Director starting January 1, 2026. Chawla’s journey with Titan spans over three decades, with remarkable contributions across various functions within the company. He joined Titan in 1991 as part of the Tata Administrative Services (TAS) and initially worked in the finance department. Over time, his versatility and leadership saw him handle key roles in the Watches Division, Commercial, Sales, Retailing, Supply Chain, and even SAP implementation. As the Chief Strategy Officer from 2013 to 2019, he expanded Titan’s business portfolio, scaling the Fragrances and Taneira businesses.
Under Ajoy’s leadership, the Jewellery Division has seen exponential growth, with a 2.5X increase in sales and profits, reinforcing its market leadership.
In his new role as Managing Director, Ajoy will continue to uphold Titan’s legacy of innovation and excellence, steering the company toward even greater heights. The formal appointment process, including Ajoy’s induction into the Board of Directors, will follow shortly and will be subject to shareholder approval.
Speaking about the transition, CK Venkataraman expressed, “On behalf of the entire Titan team, I welcome Ajoy to lead Titan in its next phase of innovation and growth. With his strong customer obsession, people orientation, partnering impulse and focus on creating value, Ajoy is well qualified to shepherd Titan towards even greater glory and scale.”
