Nintendo Opens Exclusive Pre-Order Invitations for Switch 2 Ahead of June Launch

Nintendo has commenced sending out exclusive pre-order invitations for its much-anticipated Switch 2 console, set to launch globally on June 5, 2025. This initiative prioritizes dedicated fans who meet specific criteria, including a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online subscription and a minimum of 50 hours of gameplay on the original Switch.

Invitations are being dispatched through May 12, with recipients granted a 72-hour window to complete their purchase. The Switch 2 is priced at $449 for the standalone console and $499 for a bundle that includes Mario Kart World. Early pre-order opportunities at major retailers like GameStop, Walmart, and Best Buy sold out within minutes when they launched on April 24.

The Switch 2 boasts significant technical enhancements, including 1080p resolution in handheld mode and 4K when docked, along with 256GB of internal storage expandable via microSD Express cards. Nintendo projects sales of 15 million units for the Switch 2 in the fiscal year ending March 2026.

For those who missed initial pre-order opportunities, it’s advisable to monitor the My Nintendo Store regularly for updates.
