Hims & Hers Appoints AI Expert and Former President and CTO at Cruise as Chief Technology Officer

Hims & Hers Health, Inc. (NYSE: HIMS), the leading health and wellness platform, today announced the appointment of Mo Elshenawy, a proven technology executive with deep expertise in artificial intelligence and large-scale infrastructure, as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer. His appointment marks a key milestone as Hims & Hers accelerates its vision to build the next-generation healthcare platform, powered by AI and designed to deliver deeply personalized, accessible care at scale.

Elshenawy brings over two decades of experience in the technology sector to Hims & Hers, leading large scale AI, product, and engineering teams across mobility, e-commerce, and cloud. Most recently as the President and CTO at Cruise, a self-driving vehicle company owned by General Motors, Mo led the organization through critical phases across regulatory, operations and technical development to launch and scale the first commercial driverless rideshare service in San Francisco. He has also held senior leadership roles at Amazon, where he led global engineering for the company’s ReCommerce business and led the creation of retail data analytics platforms that powered over hundreds of millions in revenue. He holds more than 10 patents across AI, robotics, and autonomous vehicles.

“The future of care connects diagnosis, treatment, and delivery seamlessly, and in a way that feels tailored to the individual. We believe AI is an important way to standardize high-quality care globally to millions of people, regardless of their income or where they live,” said Andrew Dudum, CEO and co-founder of Hims & Hers. “Our ambition to build a platform that offers access to safe, high-quality personalized care requires an accelerated investment in technology, and Mo is just the leader to drive that work.”

“We are standing at the edge of a healthcare revolution, and Hims & Hers is uniquely positioned to lead it,” said Elshenawy. “By harnessing the transformative power of AI and data, we can reimagine how care is delivered—making it more intelligent, more personal, and radically more accessible. I’m honored to join a team that shares this bold vision and is building a next-generation platform designed to serve millions with the precision and empathy every person deserves.”

Hims & Hers is transforming how everyone can improve and manage their long-term health, by delivering a seamless and smart end-to-end experience from intake to diagnosis to treatment and beyond. Beyond expanding the scope and precision of MedMatch and its intelligent routing system, Hims & Hers will invest in AI to improve diagnosis and elevate the health and wellness experience. Elshenawy’s appointment comes as the company advances its long-term vision to build a modern healthcare platform, powered by AI and direct-to-consumer infrastructure. Hims & Hers is working to modernize a system that has long struggled to keep pace with demand, aiming to make care more accessible, affordable, and responsive to the evolving needs of millions. By further investing in technology and continuing to innovate across diagnostic tools, personalized treatments, data-rich integrations, and elevated customer experience, the company believes it can dramatically increase access to world-class, personalized care.
