Cyber Mask Unveiled: Global Fraud Ring Exposed in Rajasthan’s Heartland

Cyber Crime Global Fraud Ring Exposed in Rajasthan.

In the quiet desert town of Mandawa in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district, a storm of digital deceit was uncovered by vigilant law enforcement. A major cybercrime racket with international reach was busted by local police, revealing a web of fraudsters pretending to be tech saviors while secretly acting as digital thieves.

Under the sharp leadership of Rajasthan Superintendent of Police Sharad Choudhary, the investigation led to a raid at a hotel on the Fatehpur bypass. What they found was no ordinary group. A total of 13 accused, including three women, had turned the hotel into a full-fledged cybercrime hub. Armed with 21 laptops, an equal number of mobile phones, and other digital paraphernalia, the gang operated a fake tech support network targeting unsuspecting U.S. citizens.

Their sinister strategy was simple yet clever—pose as Microsoft technicians, allegedly stationed in Washington, USA, and contact victims to “resolve technical issues.” With smooth talk and fake credentials, they persuaded people to install remote access applications such as “Ultra Viewer”, granting them full control over the victims’ computers.

Once inside the digital gates, the fraudsters would extract personal information, bank credentials, and sensitive data. Their toolbox included high-tech applications like “iBeam”, “Micro SIP”, “Turbo VPN”, and more, used for call masking, hacking, and bypassing security systems.

The gang’s roots ran far and wide—with members hailing from Manipur, Nagaland, Darjeeling, Delhi, and Mizoram, making this a pan-Indian operation with global implications. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC), with an in-depth probe now underway to trace the full extent of the financial damage inflicted.

A special mention goes to Rajasthan Constable Vikram Singh, whose determination and fieldwork played a key role in dismantling this digital illusion. Rajasthan Police believe more layers of this operation may unfold as the investigation progresses.

Let this serve as a reminder—scammers now wear the mask of trust and speak the language of help. Be wary, for even a familiar logo can hide unfamiliar intentions.
