Global pharmaceutical companies are setting up Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India in an effort to promote digital transformation. By taking advantage of the abundance of IT expertise in the nation, corporations such as Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, Sanofi, and Takeda have increased their presence.
Industry participants say that two of the main reasons why businesses are looking to India during a downturn in the economy are political stability and strong local demand.
An Ernst & Young analysis estimates that there would be more than $100 billion in Global Capability Centers in India, with 2,500 centers and more than 4.5 million professionals working there. The tech-based GCCs are not the only ones experiencing this growth. According to a Healthark whitepaper, the number of GCCs in the Life Sciences and Healthcare (LSHC) category is predicted to rise from 100 in 2024 to over 160 by 2030, employing over 4,20,000 experts.
