Seeing Machines appoints John Noble as chief technology officer

John Noble has been named as Seeing Machines’ new Chief Technology Officer, with immediate effect.

Noble will be in charge of leading the organization’s technology strategy and innovation initiatives in this recently created role, especially with regard to product development. This action comes as European regulations are becoming more stringent, mandating that Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and transportation companies implement driver monitoring system (DMS) technology in order to improve safety.

As the Chair of Seeing Machines’ Intellectual Property Committee, Noble has been with the company for 20 years and has developed a wealth of knowledge in systems engineering, research and development, engineering management, computer vision, and embedded systems. His practical experience working with clients in a variety of business divisions is anticipated to help the company leverage the increasing demand for DMS technology around the world as safety regulations become more stringent.

Seeing Machines has appointed Dr. Mike Lenné as its first Chief Safety Officer in addition to Noble. The company’s international relationships with clients, research institutions, technology partners, regulators, and safety organizations will be strengthened by Dr. Lenné, a well-known authority on human factors and safety. His hiring is a component of a broader strategic reorganization of the organization’s leadership, which aims to increase income and improve safety.

Paul McGlone, CEO of Seeing Machines, remarked: “John brings a deep technical expertise to his new role which aligns perfectly with our goal to shape the future of transport and get more people home safely. Having worked for decades in the field of engineering management, he is uniquely well equipped to improve the way we design, develop and deliver our technology. Alongside Mike’s appointment as Chief Safety Officer, our business has the leadership in place to focus on successful delivery and on our core mission of improving global safety outcomes.”

John Noble expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “We have an incredible pool of talent at Seeing Machines, and I’m delighted by the opportunity to lead our technical team. We will empower our experts, and therefore our customers, by refining our proven engineering processes to reflect the growing role of AI and synthetic data in our products, and to better support rapid and iterative delivery. I look forward to defending our reputation for quality, and ensuring we are viewed as an open and collaborative partner.”

The company has produced over 2.88 million vehicles across eight programs with major automotive brands, including General Motors, Ford, Mercedes Benz, and BMW. Seeing Machines has secured contracts for 18 automotive programs involving 11 OEMs, which are expected to generate a cumulative initial lifetime revenue of USD $392 million, with a significant portion of this revenue projected to be realized by 2028.

Seeing Machines’ ongoing USD $10 million partnership with Collins Aerospace in the aviation sector is a step forward for the possible introduction of a new product and demonstrates the company’s expanding market share.
