In a groundbreaking move, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has joined forces with Google to roll out AI-powered services for its devotees, becoming the first Hindu temple trust globally to incorporate artificial intelligence for smoother pilgrimages. “AI systems will be integrated to reduce waiting hours and ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage,” TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu shared during a recent board meeting. This visionary collaboration is poised to revolutionize crowd management, offer real-time updates, and enrich the overall experience for the millions visiting the holy Tirumala temple.
Alongside the AI initiative, TTD has taken decisive action on crucial land matters. The trust reclaimed 20 acres previously designated for a Science City project that was never realized. Moreover, TTD will oversee 35 acres of land once allocated to the Mumtaz Hotels and Devalok projects. Additionally, 50 acres will be allocated to the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department for future development. “Following CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s directives, we will preserve the sanctity of the Tirumala hills by restricting construction activities near the zoo park road and Kapilateertham,” Naidu emphasized, ensuring the protection of the sacred landscape.
In a bid to cater to public demand, the TTD board has announced the restoration of the VIP break darshan slot, which will now be available at 5 AM on a trial basis. “We’ve received numerous requests to restore the early morning slot, and we are initiating a trial run to assess its effectiveness,” Naidu noted. Additionally, Executive Officer J Syamala Rao unveiled plans for a comprehensive renovation of both VIP and general accommodations, ensuring that pilgrims experience clean, comfortable, and affordable lodging during their visits.
With these forward-thinking measures, TTD is blending age-old traditions with cutting-edge technology, paving the way for an enhanced pilgrimage experience. These initiatives aim not only to streamline the pilgrimage process but also to uphold the sacredness of the Tirumala temple, providing devotees with a fulfilling and enriching journey.
