DuPont names Jon Kemp CEO of future Electronics spinoff

DuPont has revealed that Jon Kemp, the current President of DuPont Electronics & Industrial, will take on the role of CEO for the new independent Electronics company after its planned spin-off, which is expected to be finalized on November 1, 2025. In addition to his CEO position, Kemp will join the board of directors for the upcoming public entity, which aims to become a global leader in materials and technology solutions for the semiconductor and electronics sectors.

Ed Breen, DuPont’s Executive Chairman, expressed his confidence in Kemp’s leadership and expertise, believing he will foster growth and enhance shareholder value for the independent company. Kemp emphasized the Electronics team’s long-standing dedication to innovation and their preparedness to address the needs of advanced computing and connectivity.

Alongside Kemp’s appointment, Michael Stubblefield, the current President & CEO of Avantor, will assume the role of Chairman of the board for the Electronics company once the spin-off occurs. Stubblefield’s extensive global management experience and his focus on technology and customer-driven innovation are expected to support Kemp’s leadership.

This strategic decision is part of DuPont’s ongoing transformation, with the spin-off designed to improve focus and flexibility for the Electronics division. The separation will not require a shareholder vote but will be subject to standard conditions, including final board approval and regulatory clearances. The company currently holds a “Good” overall financial health score, particularly excelling in profitability metrics.
