Ashish Thakur Appointed New CIO of Cummins India

Ashish Thakur has been named the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Cummins India, where he will oversee the company’s IT strategies aimed at driving business transformation and improving operational efficiency. Previously, Thakur served as the Business Technology Leader at Cummins India. In his new role, he will lead efforts to align IT initiatives with the company’s growth objectives, further fostering innovation.

Thakur brings a wealth of experience from the manufacturing and automotive sectors, specializing in digital transformation, strategic leadership, and using technology to support business growth. His deep expertise is expected to enhance Cummins India’s IT systems and streamline its operations.

“As the CIO of Cummins India, my goal is to leverage technology to drive growth, enhance efficiency, and empower our teams to excel. Together, we’ll shape a digital future that fuels our success,” Thakur shared with ETCIO.

Before taking on the role of CIO, Thakur held various leadership positions at Cummins India, including Business Technology Leader and IT Director, where he led digital transformation initiatives in supply chain management, aftermarket services, and CRM. He also has prior experience at Tata Technologies, managing global digital transformation projects.
