Customers of ICICI Bank may pay higher fees for certain banking services from December 1, 2026, according to an email sent by the bank. The revised charges cover cash transactions exceeding monthly limits, demand drafts and repeated electronic clearing service (ECS) debit returns.

The bank maintains separate fee schedules for different account categories. Customers should check the schedule applicable to their accounts to understand which changes will affect them.

Demand draft charges

Under the revised schedule, demand drafts below ₹1 lakh will be issued free of charge. Drafts of ₹1 lakh and above will attract a fee of ₹2 per ₹1,000, subject to a maximum charge of ₹15,000.

Currently, ICICI Bank charges ₹2 per ₹1,000 for demand drafts drawn on the bank through cheque or transfer, with a minimum fee of ₹40 and a maximum of ₹15,000.

The email lists both the free and paid categories as including ₹1 lakh. Customers should confirm the applicable fee for a demand draft of exactly ₹1 lakh with the bank.

Cash deposit and withdrawal charges

The monthly complimentary limits for cash deposits and withdrawals will remain unchanged. Customers will continue to receive 3 free cash deposit transactions and 3 free cash withdrawal transactions each month. Beyond these limits, the charge will be ₹150 per transaction.

The monthly complimentary value limit will also remain unchanged at ₹1 lakh each for cash deposits and withdrawals.

For transactions exceeding the respective value limit, the charge will increase from ₹3.50 to ₹4 per ₹1,000, or ₹150, whichever is higher.

If a transaction exceeds both the number of permitted transactions and the value limit, the higher of the applicable charges will be levied, according to the email.

ECS debit return charges

ICICI Bank will also revise charges for electronic clearing service (ECS) debit returns caused by financial reasons.

Currently, the bank charges ₹500 per return, with recovery limited to 3 instances per month for the same mandate.

From December 1, the first return will continue to cost ₹500. The second and third returns will attract a charge of ₹550 each. The maximum recovery will remain capped at 3 instances per month for the same mandate.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) will apply to all charges mentioned in the email.
