Vaia targets global growth with specialised AI solutions for financial services

As financial institutions increase their use of artificial intelligence, turning early experiments into measurable business results remains a challenge. The 2026 Global AI in Financial Services Report by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance found that 81% of surveyed firms were adopting AI, but only 14% considered it transformational to their strategy and competitive advantage.

Against this backdrop, Vaia, formerly known as CaHa Capital, is moving from investment advisory towards AI-powered solutions for financial research, due diligence, risk analysis and sustainability reporting. Founded by Shruthi Cauvery, the company also plans to expand internationally, with the US and Singapore among its target markets over the next 2–3 years.

Vaia is developing vertical large language models (LLMs) tailored to financial services workflows. Unlike general-purpose AI models, these systems are designed to handle specialised financial terminology, data and institutional processes. Their effectiveness, however, depends on accurate outputs, reliable information and verifiable results.

These concerns are significant for banks and investment managers, where AI errors can affect risk assessments, reporting and compliance. Grant Thornton’s 2026 banking survey found that 50% of banks cited governance and compliance as barriers to AI performance, while only 18% were fully confident in their AI governance and controls.

Vaia is also developing knowledge graph applications for financial analysis and tools for sustainability reporting across multiple disclosure frameworks. Its wider technology efforts include workflow automation and connecting information from internal and external sources.

“Investment and risk decisions require more than the ability to generate responses. They require financial context, numerical accuracy, reliable source data and workflows that can be validated,” said Cauvery.

The company currently serves wealth managers, family offices, banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), private equity firms and venture capital firms. As part of its international plans, Vaia intends to build a local team in the US to develop and deploy solutions for financial institutions there.

The shift highlights a key challenge for financial technology providers: delivering dependable AI within regulated business processes rather than simply automating individual tasks. For financial institutions, wider adoption will depend on proven accuracy, security and accountability.
