Porter has promoted Shubham Gupta to Chief Technology Officer (CTO), recognising his more than 11 years of contribution to the company’s technology and business growth. Gupta joined Porter when the business was handling around 100 orders a day and has witnessed its expansion into a recognised brand serving millions of customers and partners.
Reflecting on his journey, Gupta highlighted how Porter expanded beyond light commercial vehicles (LCVs) into 2-wheeler deliveries, outstation transportation and house shifting services. What began as an India-based business has since grown to serve customers and partners across the country and internationally.
Gupta described his time at Porter as a valuable learning experience, helping him understand how to build technology platforms for millions of users while developing a company and its culture from the ground up. He also acknowledged the contributions of early employees who joined the organisation when it was relatively unknown and helped build the platform.
He said he remains committed to learning from mistakes and leading the company with the same curiosity he brought to the role more than 11 years ago.
Gupta’s career at Porter reflects steady growth across technology leadership positions. He joined the company as a Technical Lead before becoming Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Engineering in April 2016. He held that position until May 2022, when he moved into the role of Vice President of Engineering.
After more than 4 years as VP of Engineering, Gupta assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer in October 2026. His experience spans technology leadership, engineering management and senior-level business operations.
