Venezuela has authorised Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, to operate in the country. Interim President Delcy Rodriguez approved the move as part of an agreement with the US-based company, according to a government statement released on Friday.

The authorisation marks a new development for Starlink’s operations in Latin America, allowing the satellite internet provider to expand its presence in Venezuela.

Starlink has continued to grow its global subscriber base through the launch of additional satellites and an expanding range of services. Its offerings cater to consumers, businesses, aviation, maritime operations and government organisations.

The agreement adds to the company’s international expansion as it continues to broaden access to satellite-based internet connectivity across different markets.
