Fresh hints from iQOO suggest that its latest flagship smartphone could soon arrive in India, although the company has yet to announce an official launch date. The iQOO India CEO, Nipun Marya, recently shared a cryptic post on X, fuelling speculation about the upcoming arrival of the iQOO 16, which succeeds last year’s iQOO 15.
iQOO 16 India launch details
Marya’s post did not reveal the device’s name or specifications. However, the teaser asked users to “stay tuned” for the next flagship, suggesting that more details could be announced soon.
The iQOO 16 was launched in China last month, with the base variant featuring 12GB RAM and 256GB storage priced at CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 86,000).
iQOO 16: Expected specifications
The smartphone features a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The screen uses Samsung’s M16 luminescent technology.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
For gaming, the device includes a Q4 gaming chip and an 8,500-square-mm vapour chamber cooling system. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
The Chinese variant has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. It also features a 32-megapixel front camera.
The phone packs an 8,400mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging in China.
While the teaser points towards a possible India launch, iQOO has not yet confirmed the timeline or whether the Indian variant will retain the same specifications.
