Religare Finvest Limited has appointed Gaurav Sharma as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), bringing nearly 30 years of experience across financial services and technology. His experience spans lending, insurance, capital markets and banking, with a focus on technology modernisation, AI-led transformation, analytics and scalable operating models.
Before joining Religare Finvest, Sharma served as CTO at IIFL Finance Group, where he led technology, digital and analytics initiatives across IIFL Finance, IIFL Securities and 5paisa.
During his tenure, he led the re-platforming of the lending technology stack and drove a Kubernetes-led infrastructure transformation. He also established an Analytics & AI Centre of Excellence focused on unified data and generative AI capabilities.
Earlier, Sharma served as Group CTO at Poonawalla Fincorp. He also played a key role in a multi-year technology transformation programme at L&T Financial Services, covering LMS consolidation, cloud migration, Salesforce-based loan origination and enterprise data modernisation.
Sharma has also co-founded Techequity Technologies, a B2B2C customer service platform, adding entrepreneurial experience to his technology leadership background.
An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, Sharma brings extensive experience in financial technology and enterprise transformation to his new role at Religare Finvest.
At Religare Finvest, he will contribute to the company’s technology and digital agenda, leveraging his experience in modernising enterprise platforms, developing scalable technology models and using AI and analytics to support financial services operations.
