Growing demand for printing solutions in smaller Indian cities is prompting Canon India to expand its consumer printing network. The company plans to increase its retail footprint to more than 10,000 active retailers across 700 cities by the end of 2027.
The expansion is aimed at strengthening Canon’s presence across Tier II, III and IV markets. The company said its consumer printing business has recorded sustained double-digit growth, creating opportunities across consumer, SME, education, enterprise and institutional segments.
Canon plans to build an integrated omnichannel network covering traditional resellers, large-format retail chains, e-commerce platforms, quick-commerce channels and enterprise-focused partners. The company said this will improve product availability, brand visibility and access to product guidance and after-sales support.
Toshiaki Nomura, President and CEO of Canon India, said, “India is central to Canon’s long-term growth ambitions, underpinned by the resilience of its economy and the emergence of new centres of enterprise and consumption,” Nomura said. “Our ambition to build a network of over 10,000 active retailers across 700 cities by 2027 reflects our commitment to invest ahead of the curve and bring Canon closer to customers through trusted touchpoints that combine first-hand product experience with expert guidance.”
Canon launches BizBee partner platform
Alongside the retail expansion, Canon has launched BizBee, a partner-enablement platform for system integrators, value-added resellers and other B2B partners. It will offer training, technical certifications, incentives, business resources and digital tools.
The initiative builds on the Canon Passport Program, which currently supports more than 5,000 active reseller partners through rewards and engagement programmes.
Canon also operates more than 400 active PIXMA Zones and plans to add over 500 PIXMA Zone Lite stores this year. Its RetailChamp Initiative will expand from 400 to more than 1,000 retail sales personnel, while the Retail Display Incentive Program will continue supporting over 1,000 channel partners.
The company also plans to expand its system integrator ecosystem to more than 500 partners across India for enterprise, education and government segments.
C Sukumaran, Vice President at Canon India, said, “Our channel ecosystem will be central to translating Canon’s growth ambition into business impact,” Sukumaran said. “BizBee, in particular, will equip our B2B partners and System Integrators with the training, certifications and business tools needed to unlock opportunities across enterprise, education and government segments.”
