OpenAI is preparing to end Cursor’s access to its models after the AI coding platform was acquired by SpaceX in a deal reportedly valued at around $60 billion. The company has informed SpaceX of its intention to terminate the existing arrangement, with the change expected to take effect in November. For developers using Cursor, the decision could eventually mean changes to the models available through their preferred coding environment.

The development is significant because Cursor has become a popular interface for AI-assisted software development, allowing programmers to use advanced models directly within their coding workflows.
