SPAN Inspection Systems Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Gaurav Vyas as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), bringing an experienced technology leader into the company as it accelerates its focus on artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, digital transformation and global growth.

The appointment comes as SPAN Inspection Systems looks to strengthen its technology backbone and expand its digital capabilities. Vyas brings experience spanning enterprise IT, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, ERP, IT service management and technology-led business transformation to the role.

Vyas brings extensive IT leadership experience

Before joining SPAN Inspection Systems, Vyas served as Associate Vice President at Rysun Labs and as Head of Information Technology at SPGPrints India, where he was involved in technology strategy and IT operations.

He previously spent more than a decade with Jekson Vision, progressing from IT Manager to Head of Information Technology. During his tenure, he handled areas including IT infrastructure, service management, cybersecurity, ERP and procurement.

Earlier in his career, Vyas held a leadership position at CMS Info Systems, where he managed customer service operations and a team of more than 75 engineers. His career has therefore spanned technology infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, service delivery and business operations.

AI and smart manufacturing on the agenda

Vyas joins SPAN at a time when the company is positioning technology as a key component of its next phase of growth. SPAN develops vision inspection and track-and-trace solutions, with applications across areas including pharmaceutical quality control, packaging automation, machine vision and industrial automation.

The company is accelerating its journey towards AI-driven products, smart manufacturing, digital excellence and global expansion, with Vyas expected to play a key role in strengthening its technology infrastructure and supporting this transformation.

The move also reflects a broader shift in the role of enterprise technology leaders, particularly within industrial and manufacturing businesses. CIOs are increasingly expected to connect IT investments with operational efficiency, cybersecurity, automation and measurable business outcomes rather than limiting their mandate to traditional infrastructure management.

Strengthening technology-led growth

For SPAN Inspection Systems, Vyas’ appointment comes as the company continues to build technology capabilities around machine vision, inspection and traceability. Its portfolio includes industrial AI, vision inspection systems, track-and-trace solutions and Industry 4.0-ready systems.

His experience across IT operations and transformation could position the company to further integrate enterprise technology with its manufacturing and inspection ecosystem as it scales.

The appointment adds another senior technology leader to India’s growing cohort of CIOs being tasked with combining AI, cybersecurity, digital transformation and business strategy to support the next phase of enterprise growth.
