India Mortgage Guarantee Corporation (IMGC) has appointed Jatinder Singh Malhotra as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), bringing a technology and transformation leader with more than 17 years of experience across financial services, consulting and enterprise technology into the company’s senior leadership team.
Malhotra’s appointment comes as IMGC looks to strengthen its technology roadmap, advance digital transformation and build technology capabilities that can support the next phase of growth for its mortgage guarantee platform.
From consulting to technology leadership
Malhotra brings experience across technology strategy, enterprise architecture, digital modernisation and business transformation. Before joining IMGC, he served as Principal at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and previously held the position of Strategy Senior Manager at Accenture.
Earlier in his career, Malhotra held progressive consulting roles at Ernst & Young (EY) and also worked with Infosys and Sapient, building experience across technology consulting, digital strategy and enterprise transformation. His professional profile identifies digital strategy and transformation, enterprise architecture, and banking and insurance among his core areas of expertise.
An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, Malhotra also holds professional certifications in areas including enterprise architecture and cloud technologies.
Technology roadmap takes centre stage
At IMGC, Malhotra will be responsible for strengthening the company’s next-generation technology and information security roadmap, with a focus on building a robust technology platform to support its future growth.
His mandate will extend beyond traditional IT operations. IMGC said he will work on bringing together enterprise technology, analytics solutions and AI/ML innovations to strengthen its mortgage guarantee platform and enable smarter, more scalable solutions for lending partners.
The appointment comes at an important juncture for technology leaders in financial services, where digital infrastructure, data, analytics, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence are increasingly becoming central to how financial platforms scale.
Driving digital transformation at IMGC
Malhotra’s experience in technology-led transformation is expected to support IMGC as it continues to modernise its technology ecosystem and strengthen its digital capabilities.
His role will involve aligning technology strategy with business priorities while supporting innovation across the company’s mortgage guarantee operations. The focus on AI/ML and analytics also signals IMGC’s intent to use emerging technologies to improve scalability and deliver more efficient solutions to its lending partners.
The appointment marks another senior technology leadership move within India’s financial services ecosystem, where CIOs are increasingly taking on broader mandates that span digital transformation, information security, enterprise architecture and business innovation.
For IMGC, Malhotra’s arrival places technology strategy firmly at the centre of its next phase of growth.
