Google is expanding AI Max for Search campaigns with new tools that allow advertisers to test budgets, ROI targets and campaign controls before making wider changes.

Starting in September, advertisers will be able to test different budgets and ROI targets across multiple Search campaigns through a single A/B test. The update builds on Google’s existing one-click AI Max experiments and is designed to help advertisers understand how campaign changes could affect overall business performance.

Google is also making AI Max experiments more flexible by allowing tests with brand and location controls enabled. This means businesses can evaluate AI Max without removing restrictions on the brands or geographic areas their campaigns are allowed to target.

The changes also expand Performance Planner, giving advertisers more ways to forecast how adjustments such as bidding or budget targets could affect existing campaign performance.

Once the forecast is available, advertisers can apply Google’s recommended changes directly to their campaigns with 1 click, making it easier to move from planning to implementation.

The new multi-campaign testing option could help advertisers assess the broader impact of higher budgets or different ROI targets across an account. Support for brand and location controls could also make AI Max experiments more useful for businesses that need tighter campaign restrictions.

As Google continues to expand AI Max across Search campaign management, the new testing and forecasting tools are aimed at helping advertisers measure its impact before making larger changes.
