Campus Activewear Names Rakesh Thakur as CFO

Mumbai, August 18, 2026: Campus Activewear has appointed Rakesh Thakur as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), strengthening its senior finance leadership as the footwear company enters its next phase of growth.

The appointment took effect on August 17, 2026, following approval from the company’s Board of Directors. The decision was based on recommendations from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee.

Thakur brings more than 22 years of experience across finance, business leadership and consumer-facing industries. His career includes senior roles at Hindustan Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Samsung India and PepsiCo, giving him experience across financial management, business operations and corporate strategy.

Before joining Campus Activewear, Thakur served as Group CFO at Imagine Marketing, the company associated with consumer electronics brand boAt. In that role, he worked across financial planning, profitability improvement, EBITDA enhancement, cash management and working-capital optimisation.

His experience extends beyond traditional finance functions. Thakur has worked across profit-and-loss management, business finance, controllership, supply-chain finance, corporate governance and business transformation. He has also been involved in mergers and acquisitions and post-deal integration initiatives.

Thakur is a Commerce graduate from the University of Delhi and a qualified Chartered Accountant. His professional career has also included recognition for contributions linked to the GSK-HUL virtual merger and GSK’s innovation initiatives.

His appointment comes at an important point for Campus Activewear, which operates in India’s competitive sports and athleisure footwear market. His experience across large multinational businesses and high-growth consumer brands could be particularly relevant as the company seeks to expand while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.

The appointment also fills a recent vacancy in the company’s finance leadership. Campus Activewear’s previous CFO, Sanjay Chhabra, stepped down from the position effective July 7, 2026.

The leadership change follows a period of growth for the company. For the first quarter of FY27, Campus Activewear reported standalone revenue of ₹385.2 crore, compared with ₹343.29 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier. Standalone net profit increased to ₹26.14 crore from ₹22.2 crore.

With Thakur now leading the finance function, his experience in working-capital management, profitability and business finance is expected to be relevant as Campus Activewear balances expansion with tighter financial and operational controls.

The company has also authorised its key managerial personnel, including Thakur, to determine the materiality of events and information requiring disclosure to the stock exchanges, in accordance with applicable SEBI regulations.

For Campus Activewear, the appointment represents a significant addition to its leadership team. Bringing in a finance executive with deep consumer-sector experience places financial management, profitability and disciplined growth at the centre of the company’s next stage of expansion.
