HP and Indian AI company Sarvam have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bring voice-based AI capabilities to HP devices in India, starting with Sarvam’s Kivi application.
Kivi enables users to interact with computers through voice instead of relying only on typing and traditional controls. It can be used to dictate text, draft and rewrite content, search for information and assist with tasks across applications.
A key focus of the partnership is supporting interactions across Indian languages. Kivi supports more than 22 Indian languages and enables code-switching, allowing users to move between languages while speaking to their computers.
HP and Sarvam said the collaboration aims to make everyday PC use more accessible, particularly for people who may find typing or conventional computer interfaces difficult.
Ipsita Dasgupta, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, HP India, Bangladesh, & Sri Lanka, said, “AI adoption will depend on how naturally the technology fits into the way people already work and learn. By bringing Sarvam’s AI capabilities to HP devices, we can make these experiences more accessible across languages and everyday computing tasks.”
Pratyush Kumar, Co-Founder, Sarvam, said, “The PC remains the primary interface through which much of the world gets work done. Voice offers a more natural way to interact with it. By bringing Sarvam’s voice and language capabilities to HP devices, we can make that interaction available across the applications people already use every day.”
Voice AI is the first area covered by the MoU. The agreement also allows both companies to explore a wider partnership as AI becomes more integrated into PCs. HP and Sarvam plan to examine additional AI experiences across devices and everyday workflows.
