Meta has introduced new capabilities for its Meta AI assistant, enabling the chatbot to perform selected tasks autonomously while better understanding user preferences and context.

The latest update is powered by Meta’s Muse Spark 1.1 AI model, which is designed to interpret user context and complete tasks without requiring repeated prompts.

According to the company, the enhanced AI can generate daily briefings by summarizing calendar events and can also be configured to handle recurring activities such as creating weekly meal plans and providing trend updates.

The new features are being rolled out initially in select markets through the Meta AI app and meta.ai, with plans to expand availability to additional regions and platforms, including WhatsApp.

Meta said users will continue to have full control over how they interact with the AI assistant. The company also confirmed that incognito chats will remain available for users who want private conversations.

In a company blog post, Meta said, “This is our next step toward personal superintelligence: an AI that knows your context, is there for you whenever you need it.”

Separately, the company also launched a new application called “Seller,” designed to provide dedicated selling tools for merchants using Facebook Marketplace.

Meta is scheduled to announce its 2nd-quarter financial results after the market closes on July 29.
