Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for a visible, people-friendly and technology-driven policing system to effectively address emerging law and order challenges.
Addressing the AP Police Retreat 2026 – Future Ready AP Police Conference in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister said the police force must be reoriented to deal with changing crime patterns, including cybercrime, misuse of social media and narcotics.
He said policing should move from an “invisible police” approach to “visible policing” while making greater use of advanced technologies, Artificial Intelligence and digital tools. Mr Naidu stressed that the police should not only formulate effective strategies but also deliver measurable results.
The Chief Minister directed officials to strengthen the Dog Squad and Forensic Science departments. He also called for specialised training in cybercrime, crimes against women, narcotics and AI-based policing.
Mr Naidu suggested certification courses for police personnel and greater use of experienced Head Constables and Assistant Sub-Inspectors to build a modern, citizen-centric police force.
