India and Poland on Monday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation across political engagement, trade and investment, technology, defence, culture and counter-terrorism during high-level talks in New Delhi.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Sibi George and Poland’s Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw T. Bartoszewski, along with Under Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Michal Baranowski. Additional Secretary in the MEA Pooja Kapur and other officials also attended the meeting.
In a post on X, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “The wide-ranging discussions reflected the depth of the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed our shared commitment to strengthening cooperation across political engagements, trade and investment, technology, defence, culture, the fight against global terrorism and other areas of mutual interest.”
The meeting follows a series of high-level engagements between the two countries in recent months. During a visit to Warsaw in March, Additional Secretary Pooja Kapur held talks with Bartoszewski on strengthening political exchanges and economic cooperation, particularly in electric vehicles, mining and shipping, while also exploring opportunities under the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement.
The two sides also discussed expanding collaboration in defence and technology, besides enhancing educational, cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
During her visit, Kapur met Polish Member of Parliament and Chair of the Poland-India Parliamentary Group Kinga Gajewska. She also interacted with representatives of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce, Poland’s National Chamber of Commerce, former Polish Ambassador to India Adam Burakowski and the CEO of Wipro Poland to discuss ways to further deepen bilateral ties.
