Ford strengthens global operations with new GCC in Coimbatore

Strengthening its presence in India, Ford Business Solutions (FBS) India, the Global Capability Centre (GCC) of Ford Motor Company, has opened a new office in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to enhance the resilience and continuity of its global business operations.

The new facility, located at SVB Tech Park, is FBS India’s 3rd office after Chennai and Bengaluru. It will support accounting, Ford Credit, and business operations teams serving Ford’s global markets.

Designed as a dedicated business continuity hub, the centre will help ensure critical operations continue without disruption. Spread across 3 floors and covering more than 82,000 sq ft, the facility can accommodate around 800 employees and is part of Ford’s strategy to strengthen global operations from India.

Gopinath Chidambaram, Technical Director for Gen AI, Cloud and Analytics at Ford Motor Company, said the GCC is focused on a specific business vertical and will not handle AI operations.

Explaining the choice of location, Gangapriya Chakraverti, India Site Head and Managing Director of FBS, said, “We’ve had team members from this city working for us for some time now and seen firsthand the strength of the talent pool here. Coimbatore has also grown into a vibrant, thriving business hub, and we wanted to build a presence in a city that has so much to offer.”

The office features more than 230 workstations on each floor, along with meeting rooms, boardrooms, focus rooms, and collaborative spaces designed to support hybrid work.

Ford said the expansion reflects the growing strategic role of India’s GCC ecosystem, with its India teams supporting technology and business transformation initiatives across the company’s global operations.

Keerthana Sampath, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce, said the new centre highlights the state’s growing position as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres and knowledge-driven industries.

Ford Business Solutions India currently employs more than 12,000 people and supports every division of Ford Motor Company worldwide.
