PNB MetLife India Insurance Co. Ltd. has appointed Chittaranjan Nayak as Senior Director & Business Head – Retail Partnerships & Bancassurance. In his new role, he will lead the company’s retail partnerships and bancassurance business, focusing on strengthening strategic alliances, expanding distribution channels, enhancing partner engagement, and accelerating business growth across institutional networks.
Chittaranjan brings more than 25 years of experience across banking, life insurance, and institutional distribution. Throughout his career, he has built extensive expertise in bancassurance, strategic partnerships, retail distribution, sales transformation, and business expansion, with a strong track record of developing high-performing distribution ecosystems.
Before joining PNB MetLife, Chittaranjan spent nearly 8 years at Tata AIA Life Insurance, where he was a member of the Senior Management Team and held leadership positions including National Head and Vice President. During his tenure, he led multi-bank distribution strategies, built structured growth channels across private banks and securities platforms, established Tata AIA’s international Non-Resident Indian (NRI) platform through Dubai-based banking partnerships, and implemented governance frameworks, performance management systems, and national operating models to strengthen partner engagement and drive business growth.
Earlier, he served as General Manager & National Head – Bancassurance at Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Co. Ltd., where he led strategic partnerships with public sector banks and government-linked institutions. His career also includes senior leadership roles at Aegon Life Insurance, Reliance Nippon Life Insurance, HDFC Life, and HDFC Bank, where he gained extensive experience in alternate distribution, corporate agency partnerships, bancassurance sales, retail banking, and customer relationship management.
His appointment reflects PNB MetLife’s continued focus on strengthening its retail partnerships and bancassurance business through experienced leadership and customer-centric growth strategies. With his proven expertise in building large-scale institutional distribution networks and driving operational excellence, Chittaranjan is well positioned to lead the next phase of growth for the company’s partnership business.
