Accenture has appointed Dr. David R. Hardoon as Managing Director & Head, Advanced AI, Southeast Asia, strengthening its leadership in enterprise artificial intelligence across the region. In his new role, he will lead Accenture’s Advanced AI practice, driving strategy, innovation, and the deployment of enterprise-scale generative AI, agentic AI, and responsible AI solutions across industries in Southeast Asia.
Dr. Hardoon is a globally recognized AI and machine learning leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning financial services, consulting, academia, and technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the University of Southampton and has built extensive expertise in AI strategy, data science, digital transformation, and responsible AI governance.
Before joining Accenture, Dr. Hardoon served as Global Head of AI Enablement at Standard Chartered, where he led the bank’s enterprise-wide AI strategy, governance framework, and AI enablement programs across global business units, driving responsible AI adoption and large-scale transformation initiatives.
Earlier, he founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Aboitiz Data Innovation (ADI), growing the AI-focused venture into a multi-million-dollar business while expanding its services beyond the Aboitiz Group. He also served as Group Chief Data & AI Officer at UnionBank of the Philippines, leading enterprise AI, data governance, and digital transformation initiatives that significantly strengthened the bank’s AI capabilities.
Previously, Dr. Hardoon was Chief Data Officer and Special Advisor (Artificial Intelligence) at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), where he led data analytics innovation and contributed to shaping Singapore’s AI strategy for the financial sector. His career also includes senior leadership roles at EY, SAS, and advisory positions with leading universities, government agencies, financial institutions, and technology organizations across Asia and globally.
As Managing Director & Head, Advanced AI, Southeast Asia, Dr. Hardoon will help organizations accelerate business transformation through advanced AI technologies, strengthen responsible AI capabilities, and unlock long-term business value by leveraging Accenture’s global expertise and partner ecosystem.
