Special Intensive Revision Begins in Maharashtra with Door-to-Door Voter Verification

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls commenced across Maharashtra today, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) launching a door-to-door verification drive to update voter records.

The month-long exercise will continue till July 29. BLOs will distribute pre-filled enumeration forms, verify voter details and collect updated information from households.

The Election Commission has said the exercise is aimed at ensuring accurate electoral rolls by updating entries and removing ineligible or duplicate records, while ensuring that no eligible voter is left out. The draft electoral roll will be published on August 5, followed by the claims and objections process.
