In his new role, Bansal will lead the company’s unsecured consumer finance business, with responsibility for P&L management, portfolio management, product strategy, distribution, business growth, and strategic partnerships. He will support Paytm’s efforts to expand digital financial services across India.

Bansal brings more than 19 years of experience across digital lending, fintech, banking, product management, business strategy, and financial inclusion. His appointment reflects Paytm’s focus on strengthening its digital lending ecosystem and expanding its consumer credit offerings.

Before joining Paytm, he served as Senior Vice President & Product Head – Business, Digital Lending and Platforms (Personal Loans) at Kotak Mahindra Bank. There, he led the business, product, and digital platform teams for unsecured personal loans, overdraft loans, and payday loans. He also managed P&L, expanded the lending portfolio, developed new revenue streams, and built digital platforms that supported business growth.

Earlier, Bansal worked as Strategy & Business Development Lead at Affinidi, a technology company founded by Temasek, where he led projects using decentralized identity networks for lending and skill-matching solutions.

He also co-founded ZikZuk Technologies Pvt. Ltd., where he served as Product Head and developed an SME neobank platform focused on cash flow management, contextual lending, and connected banking. During his tenure, he launched a co-branded Visa Infinite business credit card to help SMEs manage working capital and business expenses.

Previously, he was AVP – Strategy & Business Development at AuthBridge Research Services, where he established the financial services business unit and developed digital lending, onboarding platforms, and API-based solutions for banks, NBFCs, and fintech companies. He also spent more than 5 years at Davinta Technologies, helping transform the company into a digital NBFC while building financial inclusion ecosystems and strategic partnerships.

Bansal began his leadership journey at Altimetrik India Pvt. Ltd. before spending 5 years at Tech Mahindra, where he progressed from Software Engineer to Project Manager, leading technology delivery and client engagement projects across Australia.

He holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School and also completed an MBA International Exchange programme at the National University of Singapore.
