As artificial intelligence becomes a bigger part of social platforms, Meta has introduced a range of new AI features for Facebook aimed at improving search, content discovery, and creative experiences. The update includes the launch of AI Mode, an AI-powered search experience that generates answers using publicly available content shared across Meta’s platforms.
AI Mode is integrated directly into Facebook’s search tab and uses Meta AI to respond to user queries. Instead of showing a list of links, the feature generates answers by drawing insights, recommendations, discussions, and experiences shared publicly through Facebook, Groups, Reels, and other Meta services. Meta said the feature is powered by its Muse Spark technology and is designed to complement existing search and discovery tools on the platform.
Alongside AI Mode, Meta has introduced several AI-driven content creation features. Users can now access collage cutout templates, automatic transition effects for video montages, and AI-generated sharing suggestions based on content stored in their camera roll. The company clarified that camera roll suggestions are optional and can be turned off at any time.
Facebook is also receiving new AI-powered photo editing capabilities. Through the AI Edit feature in Stories and AI profile picture customization tools, users can modify elements such as clothing, hairstyles, and accessories in images. Meta highlighted sports-themed virtual outfit options among the available presets.
The latest rollout builds on Meta’s broader AI strategy across Facebook. Previous AI enhancements introduced by the company include animated profile pictures, automated responses for Marketplace sellers, and creator-focused assistants that provide recommendations based on audience engagement and content performance.
With these additions, Meta aims to make information discovery, content creation, and user engagement more interactive and efficient through artificial intelligence.
