Expanding its smartphone portfolio in India, Redmi has launched the Turbo 5, marking the debut of the Turbo series in the country. The new smartphone combines a high-capacity battery, powerful performance hardware, fast charging support, and a premium display experience.

The Redmi Turbo 5 starts at ₹37,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB model is priced at ₹40,999. Buyers can also avail of discounts of up to ₹2,000 using SBI, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank credit cards. The smartphone will go on sale from June 19 through Amazon and will be available in Asphalt Black, Nitro Blue, and Turbo White colour options.

The handset features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 460ppi pixel density, up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision support, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and 68.7 billion colours. It also comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

Running on Android 16-based HyperOS 3, the Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor with a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz. It is paired with ARM Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. Redmi claims the device has achieved more than 23,00,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark platform. A 3D Ice-Loop Cooling system with a 5,300 sq mm heat dissipation area helps manage temperatures.

For photography, the smartphone includes a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor featuring OIS and EIS, alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 20-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls. The device supports video recording at up to 4K/60fps and also features Redmi Pixel Matrix notifications around the camera module.

One of the biggest highlights is its 7,540mAh battery, supported by 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging through a USB Type-C port.

The Redmi Turbo 5 also supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, an IR blaster, fingerprint scanner, and face unlock. The handset measures 157.53 x 75.19 x 8.18mm.
