VodafoneThree introduces 5G home broadband service to tackle connectivity challenges in the U.K.

As demand for reliable internet connectivity continues to grow, VodafoneThree has introduced a new 5G broadband service designed to deliver fiber-like speeds without the need for traditional cable installation. The launch comes alongside a survey highlighting the growing frustration many consumers face with slow and unreliable broadband connections.

The study, conducted among 2,000 people across the U.K. on behalf of VodafoneThree, found that unreliable broadband is the biggest frustration for nearly two-thirds of respondents. The findings also revealed that 20% of participants have considered moving home to access better internet connectivity, underscoring the importance of dependable broadband in daily life.

The survey highlighted how connectivity challenges continue to impact households, particularly as remote and hybrid working models remain common. According to the findings, 24% of respondents rely on mobile hotspot connections every day to compensate for poor home broadband performance.

The research also pointed to the growing role of internet connectivity in personal relationships, with 19% of respondents claiming they had ruled out a potential romantic partner because of poor Wi-Fi quality.

To address these challenges, VodafoneThree has launched Vodafone 5G Broadband, a service powered by the company’s 5G network. The offering uses a 5G router that works immediately after setup, eliminating the need for cable installation. Customers can choose between an indoor 5G hub or an outdoor hub, depending on signal strength at their location, with both options designed for self-installation.

The company says the service can deliver speeds of up to 150 Mbps, providing sufficient performance for streaming, remote work, gaming, and everyday internet usage. While it does not match full-fiber gigabit speeds, it offers a practical alternative for households seeking reliable connectivity without extensive installation requirements.

Pricing starts at £19 per month on a 24-month contract or £30 per month on a rolling 30-day plan for speeds of up to 50 Mbps. Customers opting for the faster 150 Mbps tier can access the service from £22 per month on a 24-month agreement or £32 per month on a monthly rolling contract.

With the launch of its new 5G broadband offering, VodafoneThree aims to provide consumers with a flexible and accessible connectivity solution while addressing growing concerns around broadband reliability across the U.K.
