Apple may be preparing to place artificial intelligence at the centre of WWDC 2026, as reports suggest the company is working on a new “Gen AI” website ahead of its annual developer event. The reported development has sparked fresh speculation around Apple’s future AI strategy and upcoming announcements.
According to reports, a new Apple subdomain — genai.apple.com — has been discovered online. Although the website is currently inaccessible and displays an “ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT” message, reports claim the subdomain appears to be officially registered. This suggests the platform may already exist internally but has not yet been made public.
The timing of the discovery is significant, with WWDC 2026 now less than 2 weeks away. Industry watchers believe Apple could officially unveil the platform during the keynote presentation at the event. Reports also suggest the new subdomain may function as a dedicated hub for the company’s AI tools, services, and future generative AI initiatives.
Unlike a regular webpage under Apple’s existing website, the “Gen AI” subdomain could support multiple pages, interactive tools, and separate indexing. This has raised questions about whether Apple plans to expand beyond the current Apple Intelligence branding and adopt a broader “Gen AI” identity for its AI ecosystem.
