Paytm has introduced a new feature called Pocket Money, allowing teenagers to make UPI payments even without having their own bank account.
The feature is designed to give teens greater financial independence while allowing parents to monitor and control spending through built-in safety tools.
With Pocket Money, teenagers can make payments at retail stores and online platforms directly through Paytm without needing OTP approvals or cash transfers for every transaction.
Parents can set monthly spending limits of up to ₹15,000 and track every payment made through the app in real time.
The company has also added several safety measures, including device-level security checks. International payments and cash withdrawals are not allowed under the feature.
To activate Pocket Money, parents need to update the Paytm app, set up the feature, and invite their teenager to join the service.
The rollout reflects Paytm’s focus on expanding digital payment access while adding controlled and secure financial tools for younger users and families.
