A major cyber-enabled fraud case has emerged from Jaipur, where a woman was arrested for allegedly cheating unemployed youths by promising airport jobs using fake documents created with AI tools.
Investigators said the accused, identified as Kiran Saini, allegedly used Artificial Intelligence technology to create fake airport entry passes and identity cards to convince victims that they had secured jobs at Jaipur International Airport.
According to officials, the accused had previously worked at the airport and allegedly used her knowledge of airport procedures, entry systems and documentation processes to target job seekers. Investigators believe she collected nearly ₹9-10 lakh from around 30 people by promising airport placements.
During the probe, authorities found that the accused allegedly used Google Gemini AI tools to edit airport-related identification documents. Investigators said genuine ID cards linked to AIASL were modified to resemble official Airport Entry Passes (AEPs), making the recruitment process appear authentic.
Police recovered 4 fake airport cards, multiple documents, Aadhaar photocopies and application forms from the accused. Preliminary findings suggest that she contacted unemployed youths through social media and personal networks while claiming to have strong connections with airport management and private aviation firms.
Victims were allegedly informed that they had cleared interviews, medical examinations and security verification procedures. They were later asked to pay money in stages for uniforms, ID cards, training fees and security processing charges. In some cases, candidates were even called near airport premises using fake documents to make the process look genuine.
The fraud was exposed after several candidates did not receive joining letters despite waiting for months. Suspicious victims later verified the documents independently and discovered that the airport passes and IDs were fake. Investigators then used technical evidence and mobile records to trace and arrest the accused.
Authorities suspect more people may be involved in the racket and are currently examining bank accounts, digital transactions and possible links connected to the operation.
Cyber crime expert and former IPS officer Triveni Singh warned that cyber criminals are increasingly combining social engineering with AI technology to create highly convincing fake documents. He advised job seekers to verify recruitment offers only through official websites and authorised offices.
