Vivo X Fold 6 leaks hint at powerful upgrades and redesigned foldable experience

As anticipation builds around its next foldable device, Vivo is expected to launch the Vivo X Fold 6 in the coming months, with new leaks revealing key details about its design and hardware upgrades.

According to a tip shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Vivo X Fold 6 could be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9500. This would mark a shift for Vivo, which has previously used Qualcomm processors in its X Fold series. Earlier reports had suggested the device might feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. For comparison, the Vivo X Fold 5 launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Vivo X Fold 3 runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The tipster also claimed to have seen a prototype of the device. The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to feature a refreshed design with a flat display, rounded corners, and a large circular rear camera module. It is also likely to include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

In terms of cameras, the foldable smartphone is tipped to offer a triple rear camera setup with a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. This would be a notable upgrade compared to the Vivo X Fold 5, which includes three 50-megapixel rear cameras.

The Vivo X Fold 5 was launched in India in July last year at a price of Rs. 1,49,999. The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to arrive around the same time this year. It is likely to debut first in China before expanding to global markets.

The upcoming foldable device is also rumoured to feature a 7,000mAh battery, indicating a focus on longer usage and improved performance.
