With a long-term development strategy in focus, Telangana is aiming to transform Hyderabad into a global city over the next 10 years by attracting international investments and building future-ready infrastructure.
Speaking at the NASSCOM GCC Summit 2026 in Mumbai, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the state is following the ‘Telangana Rising Vision 2047’ framework. The goal is to raise Telangana’s contribution to India’s GDP to 10% by 2047.
The minister highlighted that many global cities are facing issues due to unplanned growth and “urban collapse.” He said Hyderabad aims to avoid such problems through structured planning and infrastructure expansion.
The government has already launched several key projects, including Bharat Future City, AI City, Metro Rail expansion, new airports, the Regional Ring Road, Musi river rejuvenation, Young India Skills University, and the AIKAM Innovation Hub.
Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is becoming a key destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) across sectors such as technology, banking, life sciences, semiconductors, defence, FMCG, space technology, and hospitality.
He added that more than 70 GCCs were set up in Hyderabad in the previous year, the highest in the country. The state now aims to launch 100 more GCCs this year, with the potential to create nearly 1 lakh jobs.
The minister also said the government is working on a roadmap to shift GCCs from traditional back-office roles to “global value centres.”
Inviting global companies to invest, he pointed to Hyderabad’s strong talent base and availability of skilled professionals, urging businesses to help take the ‘Made in Telangana’ brand to the global stage.
