In his new role, Wiens will lead the company’s technical direction, product architecture, infrastructure, and AI/ML strategy. He will oversee engineering execution, define security and reliability standards, and shape the long-term technology roadmap as the organisation expands.
Alongside this position, Wiens continues as Co-Founder of Waters Worldwide, where he is building CiCi (Command Infrastructure Corridor Intelligence), a platform designed to monitor pipelines, ports, rail systems, and logistics corridors as unified ecosystems. The platform delivers predictive insights, real-time monitoring, and actionable intelligence to support better routing, timing, and capital allocation decisions.
Prior to this, Wiens spent over 17 years at Cenovus Energy, holding multiple leadership roles across data science, analytics, and geospatial services. His work included building enterprise-scale HR data lakehouses, developing predictive workforce models, and deploying AI/ML-driven operational systems.
He also led the development of Western Canada’s first regulator-approved machine learning-based emissions compliance system, contributing to improved operational efficiency, workforce planning, and environmental performance.
Earlier in his career, Wiens worked with Golder Associates, University of Calgary, and City of Calgary, building expertise in geospatial systems, analytics, and strategic planning.
With deep experience across AI, predictive analytics, geospatial intelligence, and enterprise data systems, his appointment is expected to strengthen Waters Worldwide’s capabilities in intelligent infrastructure decision-making.
