As India accelerates its digital expansion, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said the country is expected to cross 1 billion 5G users by 2030, marking a major milestone in connectivity growth.

Currently, It has around 5 lakh 5G towers and 40 crore users, supported by an investment of ₹450,000 crore. The rapid rollout reflects the country’s strong push towards building a robust digital infrastructure.

Scindia also highlighted India’s ambition to lead in 6G technology and its position as the world’s second-largest mobile manufacturing hub. He outlined the country’s growth strategy based on 3 key pillars: “the first S is stability, the second S is scalability, and the third S is strategic autonomy.”

He further pointed to major infrastructure initiatives such as BharatNet, aimed at expanding internet access in rural areas, along with significant developments in highways and airports to support overall growth.

On the social front, Scindia noted that these efforts have contributed to lifting millions out of poverty. He also highlighted the expansion of healthcare coverage under Ayushman Bharat, which now reaches 410 million people.

The developments underline it’s broader vision of combining digital growth with social and economic progress.
