Wipro has launched a dedicated artificial intelligence business unit to accelerate its push into AI-led services, signalling a strategic shift towards automation, platforms and data-driven growth in a rapidly evolving global technology market.
The company has appointed Nagendra Bandaru as chief executive of the new division, where he will lead efforts to build enterprise AI solutions, generative AI capabilities and scalable automation platforms aimed at driving next-generation digital transformation.
The newly created AI unit will focus on developing AI-native services, machine learning solutions, data analytics platforms and intelligent automation tools, as enterprises across sectors increase investments in artificial intelligence to improve efficiency, productivity and decision-making.
The move comes amid a broader leadership reshuffle and reflects Wipro’s transition towards an AI-first operating model, as traditional IT services firms pivot from labour-intensive outsourcing to software-led, outcome-based and platform-driven delivery models.
