Apple is sharpening its artificial intelligence focus with a strategic leadership appointment aimed at enhancing its AI offerings and user experience.
The company has brought in Lilian Rincon, a former Google executive, as Vice President of Product Marketing for Artificial Intelligence. She brings close to a decade of experience at Google, where she worked on products such as Assistant and shopping services.
In her new role, Rincon will report to Apple’s marketing head Greg “Joz” Joswiak and will lead the positioning and communication of Apple’s AI initiatives, including Siri and the broader “Apple Intelligence” portfolio.
The appointment comes as Apple steps up efforts to upgrade Siri with more advanced AI capabilities. The company is working on a more powerful version of the assistant, integrating advanced technologies to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Apple has been facing growing pressure to match competitors in generative AI. In response, it is focusing on partnerships and internal restructuring, with an emphasis on delivering more personalized, context-aware, and intelligent user experiences.
Rincon’s entry signals a shift in Apple’s strategy—highlighting the importance of not just building AI, but effectively communicating its value to users.
The move underlines Apple’s commitment to strengthening its AI position while reinforcing Siri’s role at the core of its ecosystem.
