The appointment of Shiney Prasad marks a strategic move to enhance its global operations and capability center ecosystem.
Shiney Prasad brings over 30 years of experience across insurance, financial services, shared services, digital transformation, operations, and GCC management. His appointment reflects Aon’s focus on building leadership with strong global and operational expertise.
Prior to joining Aon, he served as Country Head – India at Guardian Life, where he led the company’s India operations and supported its strategic growth in the market.
Earlier, he was with Ernst & Young as Partner and Sector Leader – Insurance for EY India. In this role, he advised insurance and reinsurance clients on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, market entry, customer experience, digital transformation, actuarial services, operations, risk, and finance transformation. He also played a key role in strengthening advisory capabilities for insurers and GCCs.
A major part of his career was spent at Sun Life, where he held senior leadership roles in Hong Kong over more than a decade. As President – Digital Enterprise, Asia, he was part of the Asia Executive Team and led business and technology functions across the region. He also oversaw global shared services operations from India and the Philippines, managing over 3,500 employees. Earlier, as Senior Vice President, he led digital, technology, operations, and shared services across 8 Asian markets.
Before that, he held multiple leadership roles at AIG across the Philippines, India, and Malaysia. His work included setting up and scaling shared services operations, serving as CEO of a shared services subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur, and establishing AIG’s domestic shared services business in India. He also contributed to building BPO operations in the Philippines supporting US life insurance business.
In his early career, he worked with organizations such as American Express, GE Capital, and Max New York Life, gaining experience across financial services, shared operations, and business functions.
With extensive experience across India and Asia, Shiney Prasad brings deep expertise in scaling global operations, driving transformation, and building high-impact GCCs. His appointment is expected to support Aon’s next phase of growth and capability expansion.
