Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 moves closer to launch as testing begins

New developments suggest that Samsung is preparing to launch its next-generation smartwatch, with the Galaxy Watch 9 now entering the testing phase.

A firmware file for an unreleased Samsung device has been spotted on a US test server by Mohammed Khatri. The device carries the model number SM-L345U, which has been previously linked to the Galaxy Watch 9. This indicates that the smartwatch has likely moved beyond development and into active testing.

This update follows an earlier leak that hinted at key specifications of the upcoming wearable. According to that report, the Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to be available in two sizes — 40mm and 44mm. The 44mm variant is said to feature a 435mAh battery, similar to what is seen in the Galaxy Watch 8.

While attention is also on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, there have been no signs of its firmware appearing on test servers yet. However, it is expected to surface soon, especially if Samsung plans to launch both devices together.

These developments indicate that the Galaxy Watch 9 launch could be approaching, as the company continues to move forward with testing and final preparations.
