SpaceX set to launch 119 payloads on Transporter-16 rideshare mission

In another major rideshare mission, SpaceX is preparing to launch its Transporter-16 mission from California on 03/30, carrying 119 payloads into low Earth orbit. The mission will use the Falcon 9 rocket, with a 57-minute launch window opening at 6:20am EDT. This marks the 16th mission under the company’s dedicated rideshare program.

The payload includes a mix of cubesats, microsats, and 8 payloads that will later be deployed by orbital transfer vehicles. These missions are designed to provide cost-effective access to space for multiple customers in a single launch.

Around 8.5 minutes after liftoff, Falcon 9’s first stage will attempt a landing on the drone ship. Viewers can watch the launch live on SpaceX’s official channels, with coverage beginning 15 minutes before liftoff.

So far, SpaceX has launched over 1,600 payloads through its rideshare missions. The company also set a record in 01/2021 with a single mission carrying 143 payloads.
