Mr. Singh will lead long-term strategic planning and drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives to accelerate growth, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the airline’s competitive position in a fast-evolving global aviation landscape.
Welcoming the appointment, Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director of IndiGo, said, “Aloke brings an exceptional blend of strategic vision and operational depth. For now, Aloke will report to me. Once the next CEO assumes office, he will transition to reporting to the new Chief Executive.”
Commenting on his new role, Aloke Singh said, “I am delighted to join IndiGo at such a pivotal moment for the airline and for Indian aviation broadly.”
Singh brings over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, spanning strategy, planning, operations, and commercial functions. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Air India Express, where he led transformation efforts, delivering operational improvements and driving rapid growth.
He also served as Managing Director of AirAsia India, where he managed key business and operational priorities during a critical phase for the airline. Earlier, he worked with CAPA – Centre for Aviation as Senior Advisor, Airline Consulting, supporting advisory initiatives across the aviation sector. Alongside this, he was Co-founder & CEO of OpenSky Resorts, building a travel and hospitality venture.
Prior to that, Singh was Chief Officer, Network Planning at Oman Air, focusing on network strategy and planning. He spent a significant part of his career at Air India Limited as Executive Director – Strategy & Planning, building deep expertise in airline strategy over the years.
He began his career as an Account Executive at FCB Ulka.
Singh has completed a Chevening Fellowship at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and holds an MBA from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
